I really love the web site. My parents grew up on "Hunk Hill". I have re-connected with a couple of long-lost cousins through your site and recommend it to every family member lean. Enclosed is a copy of my Dad's 8th grade graduation photo taken in 1946. He graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School (Oak Hill, WV). I hope you can scan and put it on the web site. I have also sent a copy to the library in Fayette County."

Kingston Elementary School Front 1988

This is another view of the Kingston Elementary School.  As I have stated before, when I attended this school, this building was our High School.  Actually, it was both Jr. High, and High School. In this photo from left to right, my daughter Laura Lee Perry Riner, myself (Bob Perry), and my wife Betty Lou Perry. Our son, Jim, took this picture."

Kingston Elementary School 1988

Kingston Elementary School 1988 - I grew up on Mossy, attended a one room school at Lick Fork, through the third grade. Beginning with the fourth grade, we were bussed to Kingston, as the Mossy school was shut down. At the time, there were two buildings. One was the grammar school, and the other was the high school. When I graduated in 1953, both were still standing. I do
not know when the grammar school was demolished, but when I went back in 1988, it was gone. All of the high school students were now attending school in Oak Hill.
.......I did take a picture of the school. This photo is of me at the rear side of the school. The sign on the building, says, Kingston Elementary School. The young girl in the back ground is my youngest daughter, Laura Lee. All of the miners houses in Kingston had been torn down, but I do remember a small building that had a sign saying, " Kingston Post Office". I couldn't understand why they needed a post office, when no one lived in the town. Hope the picture will turn out ok."
